I would like to thank the membership for selecting me as the president of the Sri Lanka Collage of sexual health and HIV medicine for the year 2023. As the current president I pay my sincere gratitude to all past presidents of the College for their valuable contributions to bring the college to this level today.
The theme for year 2023 is “Safeguarding the vulnerable within the practice of sexual health” aiming to introduce the concept of safeguarding into the sexual health practice in Sri Lanka in order to provide safe sexual health, free of coercion and violence and giving priority to prevent sexual exploitation among young people and women.
The SLCoSHH regularly conduct its annual scientific congress with the participation of renown experts in the field, which immensely help young scholars and researchers to gain knowledge, experience and skills in the field. Further, annual scientific congress is a great opportunity for expanding the professional network and exploring current and future perspectives in the field of sexual health and HIV medicine. I am delighted to announce, the 28th Annual Scientific Congress of the Sri Lanka College of Sexual Health and HIV Medicine which will be held from 12th to 14th October 2023 at the Galle Face Hotel, Colombo in collaboration with the National STD/AIDS Control Programme (NSACP) of the Ministry of Health.
